Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 – 15-ounce cans of tomato sauce
- 1 15-ounce can kidney beans with liquid (Recommended brand: S&W)
- 1 15-ounce can black beans with liquid (Recommended brand: S&W)
- 2 15-ounce cans pinto beans with liquid (Recommended brand: S&W)
- 1 cup yellow onion – diced (1 medium onion)
- ½ cup celery – diced (2 stalks) approximately
- 3 medium tomatoes – chopped
- 2-3 teaspoons cumin powder
- 2-3 Tablespoons chili powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups water
Steps
Cook ground beef and chopped onion until onions are translucent and hamburger is browned.
In a large pot or crockpot, combine cooked ground beef and all other ingredients and bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer on low heat.
Cook, stirring every 15 minutes for 2 hours, at minimum 1 hour.
This soup also works really well in the crockpot on high for 3 hours.
